I recently found a birthday card, shuffled in the back of a drawer, unwritten. It said, "I decided to do something new for your birthday" and inside, "remember it on time!" Well, dear Henry, your 5th month birthday didn't slip by my mind on the day, but I never did get the blog post done! So, belatedly, where did the time go? Five months!
You are doing so many things right now, each day is a new discovery, a bigger smile, and more joy for our family.
A week or so ago, you tried some rice cereal. While more went out then in, you've now got the hang of it, for the most part! Last night, Mommy fixed you the normal amount, about half of the little dessert bowls we have. But you weren't finished! You ended up eating a whole bowl! And did the same again tonight!
You are on the brink of sitting up by yourself. Still a bit wobbly, just a bit of help is required. You've mastered rolling over (and over, and over), both ways too! And yes, you've even begun to army crawl a bit. Your playmat is no longer your boundaries, and brother has to be careful with his smaller toys now.
The doctor commented on how alert and tuned in to your surroundings you are. You greet us with a "Aheeey," that sounds just like you are saying, "Hey!" (yes, he's a southern boy!). You follow your brother non stop, tracking him wherever he is. And you always have a bright smile for your Grandma. We are starting to do baby signs with you, and can't wait until you can sign back!
You sleep so well, ready for bed by 7:30 or 8. Sometimes you wake up to nurse again around 9, but usually, you sleep until 8 or 8:30 the next morning!
A blessing, a joy, a pleasure, a good sleeper, a sweet, sweet boy! Happy belated 5 months little Henry!
