The Christmas train engine, Saturday in Sylva and Bryson City

We realized, a bit after making reservations for our Polar Express ride, that it would also be the weekend of the final Build and Grow of the year, and the final piece to the Christmas train the boys had been working on, the engine! So Daddy quickly made reservations for the closest Lowe's to Bryson City, which happened to be in Sylva.  Let's just say, Burlington Lowe's has got it going on, with tables, and quite the organized operation.  Sylva, had room for improvement, as we had to work on the floor! But the project was completed and fun was had, no matter what!
Working on the engine

The former Jackson County Courthouse, now library, in downtown Sylva, all decorated.

Hugging the bear in an outdoor store, sporting his new backpack. We couldn't believe he had to upgrade already, his other bag was too small!
We headed back to Bryson City for lunch, after shopping a bit in Sylva. Southern Living had written up the restaurant Jimmy Mac's for it's burgers, so we decided to try it out. Wow and double wow!  Try it if you are up there!

We then went back to the station to visit the Lionel train museum on premises. We been during the summer, but Grandma had not been, and you know us, trains are always a hit! A bit of shopping on the way back, a stop at the "real caboose" for a bit of play and we headed back to the cabin for a quiet afternoon and evening in front of the fire.

The next day, Biltmore!
