Today we went on a little adventure to Saxapahaw. Instead of buying presents for occasions, we are trying to do trips or experiences. As I said to someone, that way they create memories, not clutter. So today, with the temperatures only in the upper 60s, the sun shining and our Keens on, we headed to the
Haw River Canoe and Kayak Company for a little canoeing. We took a half day trip on the Saxapahaw Lake and up river. Other than a few fishermen, it was us, the egrets, herons and a massive snapping turtle. Oh, and the horses...

Telling me it's actually easier if I DON'T paddle...I don't know if that's an insult or not! (Actually not, Brant told me he has only paddled solo, so tandem was a new thing for him) |

The smallest boater, he was the wildlife spotter for us |

We finished up our day trip with lunch at the Saxapahaw General Store, yummy food! |
