St. Augustine Day 2: Castillo de San Marcos

Our second day in St. Augustine dawned with the promise of heat and sun! We set out to explore the Castillo de San Marcos.  A national park, it's the oldest masonry fort in North America.  It's constructed in the traditional Spanish style, with garitas (guard houses) on each corner.

The drawbridge into the actual fort.

Exploring the rooms, and a closer inspection of the cannon

Looking out from the top

Getting ready to watch a musket firing from the roof

"Take a picture of me and the cannon Mommy!"  Don't ever pass up my boy saying to actually take his photo!

Cannons that were used and brought to the fort for display

After exploring the fort, we were off to lunch at a New Orleans' style restuarant

Of course, soon after we ate, Henry needed his lunch
Big B took this photo of Brant waiting for Henry and I to finish

After lunch brought another fun adventure for the O'Day family!
